GREENER Project | Second General Assembly

GREENER Project | Second General Assembly

14 June 2023

The second General Assembly of the H-Europe GREENER project was held on 6 and 7 June 2023 in San Sebastiàn (Spain). The meeting was hosted by the partner CICB – CICbiomaGUNE (Centro de Investigación Cooperativa en Biomateriales CIC biomaGUNE) at the headquarters of the Science and Technology Park of Gipuzkoa. The meeting was attended by all the technical and administrative representatives of the 8 project partners.

The first day focused on the progress of the project and a status overview with a presentation of the activities carried out in the first six months. Each partner, in relation to their own work package, showed the activities carried out, the results obtained, and the action plan for the coming months.

Among the main topics discussed:

  • Project management, management structure, quality plan (WP1 – TUC);
  • Requirements, specification, system design, optical path, spectroscopium setup (WP2 – ENAS);
  • Design of synthesis of nanomaterials – quantum dots (QD) DNA origami hybrids (WP3 – CICB, TUC);
  • Development of single photon source, design of phase zone plate, development of technology flow (WP4 – TUC);
  • Development of single photon detectors, study of feasibility of enhanced high speed single photon detection module, optical coupling at detector side (WP5 – AUREA, TUC);
  • Data processing, training and validation of AI algorithms and NLP appproach to chemical species (WP7 – SOFTJAM);
  • Dissemination and exploitation works,at local and European level, planning, training events organization (WP10 – WH).

At the end of the presentations, the participants were involved in Lab tour in the main laboratories of the CICbiomaGUNE, including the Biomolecular Nanotechnology Lab, Magnetic Resonance Imaging Lab, Carbon Bionanotechnology Lab, Molecular and Functional Biomarkers lab. On this occasion they were also able to observe a live demonstration of the synthesis of a quantum dot by a PhD student.

The second day mostly focused on working groups, moments of Consortium discussion on the main project themes, review of the main topics, action plan for coming months.

The Assembly concluded with the arrangement to organize the next meeting of the Consortium at M12 in December 2023 in the same period as the first project training school, of which more details will be shared in the coming months.
